This
commissioning strategy sets out a strong and shared commitment by the Western
Bay Health and Social Care Partnership to ensure a sustainable range of high
quality care home placements to meet the needs of older people within the local
authorities of Swansea, Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot.
The strategy sets out the changes that will be required to the current
commissioning models in our three Local Authorities together with the Abertawe
Bro Morgannwg University Health Board (ABMUHB). It signals future requirements
from the providers of care home services and the way in which this care home
“market” will need to develop and operate in order to deliver this vision.
