Public Protection Commissioning Review PDF 74 KB · Lee Morgan - Head of Housing and Public Protection · Mark Wade - Housing Business Manager · Councillor Mark Thomas - Cabinet Member for Environment Services Additional documents:
Minutes: · Lee
Morgan attended with Mark Wade and Cabinet Member Mark Thomas and outlined the
services as a whole · Explained that most of the services are frontline and so
have direct impact on residents · Most of
the services are statutory and 61% of the budget is realised by income · Drawing comparisons with other Councils is difficult because
each one runs these services in different ways · Charges
could be made for Pest control but charging residents means that uptake of
services drops which is detrimental to Public Health. · Swansea
charges around the midrange for services such as weddings in comparison to
other Councils · The department is very good value for money could be
publicised more · The commercial opportunities may be being pursued for little
return for effort when statutory services may be impacted |
