Additional Information

Born and bred in Waunarlwydd.  Lived all my married life in Gowerton.  Married to Ieuan, a school teacher, and we have two grown up sons, one a police officer and the other in banking.  I have just retired after a working life with the City Council – first with the Housing Department, then the Education Department, and for the last 20 years, Social Services, at a Day Centre for people with learning difficulties.  This has given me a thorough understanding of the workings of the local authority.

Served on the Community Council for the past 22 years, and am the longest serving member of that council.

Represented Gowerton on a number of committees, such as the Gower Forum, and the Rural Assets Group, which was involved in acquiring Objective One money for the Swansea Area.

Secretary of the Local Action Group which is trying to obtain Convergence Money for the area.

Chairperson of the Gowerton Twinning Association.

Involved with fund raising for the Eisteddfod when it was held in Swansea in 2005.

For the past 4 years I have been Chairperson of the Swansea Branch of One Voice Wales which represents all Community Councils in Swansea.

Trustee of the Swansea Council for Voluntary Service.

I have recently had the honour of being nominated to serve on the Governing Body of Tregwyr Infants School.

I serve on the Standards Sub Committee of City & County of Swansea which investigates complaints on the conduct of Community Councillors.
