To approve and sign the Minutes of the previous meeting(s) as a correct record.

Resolved that the Minutes of the Economy and Infrastructure Policy Development Committee held on 18 July, 2019, be approved as a correct record.

The Sustainable Policy Officer provided a presentation on Building a Better Swansea, Greening Swansea City.

The presentation detailed:

·       Developing the Draft Green Infrastructure Strategy

·       National Policy Legislation

·       Strategy Contents

·       The Vision

·       6 Over Arching Strategic Objectives

·       Achieving the Objectives

·       Green Space Factor (Urban Greening Factor)

Members’ discussions included the need to achieve support from other public sector organisations, partners and developers (NRW/BIDS) and involving ‘friends of’ groups.

Members congratulated officers on their comprehensive report.

Resolved that the report proceed to through the decision making process and the Chair reports Cabinet Members views to Committee Members.

The Director of Place referred to the draft masterplan and encouraged members to view the literature following the meeting. 

Members’ noted that challenges existed in developing the business case in respect of the skyline project and the timescale for delivery could be between 5 and 10 years.

Resolved that the update be noted.
