Welcome. Minutes: The Chair welcomed Councillor Mark Parkinson, the new Community / Town Council representative on the Standards Committee following his appointment by Council on 5 September 2024. |

Review of Standards Committee Hearings Procedure. Additional documents: Decision: Approved subject to amendment(s) Minutes: The Head of Democratic Services presented a report to review the Standards Committee Hearings Procedure. The suggested amendments were outlined in Appendix 1. Discussions took place and various amendments were suggested by the Committee, which were agreed in principle, subject to a revised Standards Committee Hearings Procedure being brought back to the next meeting for final approval. Resolved that 1) Appropriate wording be drafted by the Head of Democratic Services and Lead Lawyer for the revised amendments; 2) The further revised Standards Committee Hearings Procedure be brought back to the next scheduled meeting for final approval. |

Workplan 2024-2025. (Verbal) Decision: Noted Minutes: The Head of Democratic Services and Chair suggested the following items for the Work Plan 2024-2025: a) Invite Chairs of Community / Town Councils to discuss their duties under the Code of Conduct and to ensure that adequate training is considered as a result. A separate session could also be held for Clerks of Community / Town Councils; b) Consider the questions / engagement process for Group Leaders in advance of the next schedule of meetings; c) Invite the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales to a future meeting to discuss lessons learned and best practice. The Committee also noted the fact that the Council would
have to commence the recruitment process for a replacement to the Statutory
Co-opted Member, Margaret Williams whose term of office would end on 31 March
2025. |
