The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) covers both the areas of data protection and information security and is being introduced to strengthen citizens’ rights regarding their personal data. It will come into force on 25th May 2018. As part of our preparations to ensure Swansea Council is fully compliant with the regulation and the accompanying Data Protection Act, our Data Protection Policy has been substantially revised and requires approval.
