Transforming Education: Additional Learning Needs, and Right Schools in Right Places. PDF 138 KB Decision: Approved Minutes: The Team Manager for Education Strategy presented the draft annual report of the STC for 2023/24 which sought to provide Council with an update of the progress made towards the transformational goals on the topics detailed below, following contributions from members of the committee throughout the municipal year. The STC at its meeting in June last year had agreed to focus on the following two topics during the year: · Transforming Additional Learning Needs · Right Schools in Right Places The various reports, data, statistics, and comprehensive background information provided on the two topics during the year were outlined and detailed in the report. Members had considered these reports and discussed the matters at length during the various committee meetings. The proposals, suggestions and recommendations for future service provision, as well as the actions taken to date and planned for the future, in order to move forward the service around the two areas identified above were also outlined in the report. Reports had already been taken to Cabinet and further reports would also follow in due course. The Chair welcomed the report and thanked Members, Officers and the Cabinet Member for their input and attendance during the year, he warmly welcomed and supported the report. The Cabinet Member for Education & Learning also welcomed the report and again thanked Committee Members and Officers for their work in developing the various proposals relating to the two topics outlined. Resolved that: 1) the draft report be approved and referred to Council. 2) Council endorses consideration of future consultation on the specific proposals that will emerge from delivery of the transformation programmes, which will be presented to Cabinet in future reports. |

Decision: Noted Minutes: The Chair indicated that this meeting was the final meeting
for this municipal year. He outlined that the annual report had just been agreed and
would proceed to Council in May and again thanked Committee Members for their
attendance and input into the meetings and also
thanked the Officers for their support and assistance during the year. |
