Announcement(s) of the Chair. Decision: Noted. Minutes: The Chair congratulated colleagues in Neath Port Talbot and Pembrokeshire on their successful Celtic Freeport bids. He also announced that the next tranche of funding amounting to £23m had been received for the year. He reiterated that the Swansea Bay City Deal remained the only region to have all its projects in a “live” status. |

Pentre Awel Project Update. (For Information) PDF 1 MB Decision: For Information. Minutes: Dr Sharon Burford, Pentre Awel Project Manager presented a “For Information” report to inform Joint Committee of the progress made and status of the Pentre Awel Project. In support of the published report she also shared a powerpoint presentation which included a short video. Whilst this was a “for information” report, the Committee formally moved that it write to both the Welsh and UK Governments to highlight the inflationary construction cost pressures being encountered. |

Decision: Approved. Minutes: Ian Williams, Swansea Bay City Deal Portfolio Development Manager presented a report to provide Joint Committee with an updated City Deal Portfolio Business Case required for submission to Welsh and UK Governments. He stated that very minor amendments had been made to the document but these were more reflective of the progression of the projects, the challenges of the current economic conditions and the maturing of governance arrangements rather than any fundamental changes of the makeup or viability of the business case. Resolved that Swansea Bay City Region Joint Committee approves the Swansea Bay City Deal Portfolio Business Case attached at Appendix A for submission to Welsh and UK Governments. |
