Phase 1

 

·         Detailed design work being worked up

·         Right to light issues still being negotiated

·         Hotel bids are being short listed – approx. 150 beds in a 4* hotels

·         Bridge will now allow cycling across

·         Options are being explored for a 5G test bed

·         Business case timelines and 5 case business model discussed

·         Red flag on ‘resources’ relates to staffing – adverts out now to recruit

 

Kingsway

 

·         Will employ new contractor on Kingsway

·         Currently making the site safe

·         Some issues to work through with new contractor but confident going forward

·         Up to date due diligence being done on new contractor

·         Officers worked very hard to deal with the issue

 

Kingsway Strategy

 

·         Car parking strategy being developed

 

Kingsway Digital Village

 

·         Looking at planning consent and contractors this year

·         Look at designs later in the year

·         Need 50% of the building let before the build, people are already interested

·         Council will do core elements of the fit out

 

City Deal

 

·         Meeting late March to sign off the business case and move forward

 

Strategic Sites

 

·         Castle Square, Felindre, Mariner St, Phase 2, Swansea Vale, SPG and Swansea Bay Regeneration all moving forward

·         Request to add the Wind St development to the Dashboard report

 

Tawe Corridor

 

·         Ongoing discussions between Welsh Government and Skyline

·         Permission to start been granted on Powerhouse redevelopment

·         Congratulations to Paul Relf’s team on the funding achievement

·         A presentation on the progress and detail of Swansea Central Phase 1.

There will also be opportunity for a question and answer session.
