In accordance with the Code of Conduct adopted by the City & County of Swansea no interests were declared.

To approve & sign the Minutes of the previous meeting(s) as a correct record.

Resolved that the Minutes of the Poverty Reduction Policy Development Committee held on 25 April and 24 May 2018 be signed and approved as correct records.

The Chair outlined the Terms of Reference for the Committee ‘for information’.

The Head of Poverty & Prevention provided the Committee with a presentation on the Committee Work Plan for 2018-2019.

The following were discussed in the presentation: -

·         Considerations;

·         Proposals for 2018-2019;

·         Poverty Truth Commission / Homelessness Action Plan;

·         High Interest Lending;

·         Human Rights City;

·         Employability.

The Committee discussed work carried over from the previous PDDC; focusing upon a smaller number of topics; the proposals, outcomes and work programme for the Poverty Truth Commission / Homelessness Action Plan; the work programme and outcomes for High Interest Lending; the work programme and outcomes for Human Rights City; and, if time allowed, the work plan and outcomes for employability.

Resolved that: -

1)    The contents of the presentation be noted;

2)    The following topics be included in the 2018-2019 Work Plan:

-        Homelessness Strategy Action Plan

-        High interest lending

-        Poverty Truth Commission 

-        Human Rights City

3)    The topic of Employability be held in reserve, if time allowed;

4)    The Head of Poverty & Prevention circulate the amended presentation slides to the Committee;

5)    An updated Work Plan be reported to the next scheduled meeting.

Resolved that future meetings of the Committee during the 2018-2019 Municipal Year commence at 4 p.m.
