Minutes:

RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Services Cabinet Advisory Committee held on 27 July 2015 be approved as a correct record.

 

21.

Update from the Camera Car. (Verbal)

Minutes:

The Chair circulated details of notices issued by the Camera Car by category between 1 January 2015 and 6 July 2015.  The total number issued was as follows:

 

  • Total issued - 5,442;
  • Warning Notices - 377;
  • Spoiled - 13.

 

The Chair stated that regular reports would be forwarded to the relevant Cabinet Advisory Committee.

 

It was highlighted that details of each of the Wards in Swansea, including hotspots would be beneficial.  It was added that updates regarding the Camera Car working at night and enforcement issues in and around the Liberty Stadium during match days was required.

 

RESOLVED that:

 

(1)       the contents of the report be noted;

 

(2)       the Parking Services Manager provide an update report to a future meeting giving a breakdown of car enforcement notices by Ward,        including hotspots;

 

(3)       the Parking Services Manager updates the Committee regarding the          use of the Camera Car at night;

 

(4)       the Parking Services Manager updates the Committee regarding     enforcement issues surrounding the Liberty Stadium, particularly on           match days.

 

22.

Update on Quality Bus Contracts and Partnerships. (Verbal)

Minutes:

The Chair reported that discussions were ongoing with bus companies, particularly First Group, regarding Quality Bus Contracts and Partnerships.  She added that the Authority were considering a similar agreement to the Quality Bus Contract in Sheffield and this was the basis of further discussions. 

 

The Committee commented regarding customer surveys being undertaken by First Group, particularly in the Quadrant Centre and the responses received.  It was commented that fresh input was required and alternative groups of people needed to be interviewed in order to assess their views.  In addition, it was also noted that First Group were only recording written complaints.  Verbal complaints were not being recorded.

 

The Chair added that the Authority was continually trying to improve routes and services.

Briefing - People and Pavements.

Minutes:

In the absence of Officers, the item was deferred.

The Chair presented an updated Work Plan 2015-2016. 

 

The Committee discussed the topics available for investigation.

 

RESOLVED that:

 

(1)       the contents of the report be noted;

 

(2)       the following topics be added to the Work Plan:-

 

·         School Transport Services;

 

·         Social Services Transport;

 

·         Parking around the Liberty Stadium;

 

·         People and Pavements.
