Disclosures of Personal and Prejudicial Interests. Minutes: The Chief Legal Officer gave advice regarding the potential personal
and prejudicial interests that Councillors and / Officers may have on the
agenda. The Head of Democratic Services reminded Councillors and Officers that
the “Disclosures of Personal and Prejudicial Interests” sheet should only
be completed if the Councillor / Officer actually had an interest to declare.
Nil returns were not required. Councillors and Officers were also informed that
any declarable interest must be made orally and in writing on the sheet. In accordance with the provisions of the Code of Conduct adopted by
the City and County of Swansea no interests were declared. |

To Confer the Honorary Freedom of the City and County of Swansea to the Swansea Branch of the Merchant Navy Association. Minutes: The
Lord Mayor welcomed the Lord Lieutenant, High Sheriff, Civic Dignitaries,
Distinguished Guests, Members of the Council and the Swansea Branch of the Merchant Navy
Association to the Ceremonial Meeting of Council. The
Leader of the Council referred to the meeting of Council held on 10 September
2020 whereby Council resolved to confer the Honorary Freedom of the City and
County of Swansea to the Swansea Branch of the Merchant Navy Association. The Leader of the Largest Opposition Political Group, the Leader
of the Conservative Group and the Armed Forces Councillor Champion spoke in
support of the motion. Resolved that the Honorary Freedom of the City
and County of Swansea be conferred on the Swansea Branch of the Merchant Navy
Association. The Lord Mayor then presented
the Swansea Branch of the Merchant Navy Association the Honorary Freedom
Scroll, granting it the Freedom of the City and County of Swansea. Captain Roy Griffiths of the
Swansea Branch of the Merchant Navy Association responded by thanking the
Council for the honour. |
