In accordance with the Code of Conduct adopted by the City and County of Swansea, the following interests were declared:-

Councillor J P Curtice  -  personal and prejudicial  - Minute No.42 – LA Governor Applications -  Governor of Pengelli School – left prior to discussion thereof.

Councillor J A Hale  - personal and prejudicial – Minute No. 42 – LA Governor Applications – Governor of Danygraig School – left prior to discussion thereof.

Councillor J W Jones – personal and prejudicial – Minute No. 42 – LA Governor Applications – Governor of Olchfa School – left prior to discussion thereof.

Councillor D G Sullivan – personal – Minute No.43 – LA Governor Applications held on file – as previously declared.

To approve the Minutes of the LA Governor Panel Meeting held on 27 November 2014.

RESOLVED that the Minutes of the LA Governor Panel held on 27 November 2015 be approved as a correct record.

The School and Governor Unit Manager provided a for information report on the current list of LA Governor Vacancies.

The LA Governor Panel was requested to exclude the public from the meeting during consideration of the items of business identified in the recommendation to the report on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as set out in the exclusion paragraphs of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 as amended by the Local Government (Access to information) (Variation) (Wales)Order 2007, relevant to the items of business as set out in the report.

The LA Governor Panel considered the public interest test in deciding whether to exclude the public from the meeting for the items of business where the public interest test is relevant as set out in the report.

It was RESOLVED that the public be excluded for consideration o0f the following items.

The School and Governor Unit Manager reported on the applications for LA Governor vacancies that required decision.

AGREED that

(1)      the following nominations be recommended to Cabinet for approval:-

Danygraig Primary School   -   Reverend Stephen Bunting

Llanrhidian Primary School  -   Mrs Felicity Parrott

Pengelli Primary School       -   Mrs Elaine Thomas

Pontybrenin Primary School -   Mr Jeff Lewis

Olchfa Comprehensive School – Miss Emily Gaffney

YGG Bryntawe                     -    Mr Dewi Geraint Morris

(2)      The vacancy in respect for YGG Lwynderw BE DEFERRED in order for the applicant seeking reappointment be given the opportunity to complete the amended application form.

(3)        Letter be submitted to all applicants on the waiting list in order for them to resubmit new application forms.
