In accordance with the Code of Conduct adopted by the City and County of Swansea, the following interests were declared;

Councillor D G Sullivan – Personal – Item 7(19) Minute No.36 – LA Governor Applications held on File – as previously declared.

Councillor T M White - Personal and Prejudicial – Item 4 – Minute No.33 - Item 6(8) - Minute No. 35 - LA Governor Applications - I am present Chair at Brynhyfryd Junior School. Councillor White left the meeting during consideration of this item.

To approve and sign, as a correct record, the Minutes of the LA Governor Panel Meeting held on 30 October, 2014.

RESOLVED that the Minutes of the LA Governor Panel held on 30 October 2014 be approved as a correct record.

The School and Governor Unit Manager provided a for information report on the current list of LA Governor Vacancies.

The LA Governor Panel was requested to exclude the public from the meeting during consideration of the items of business identified in the recommendation to the report on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as set out in the exclusion paragraphs of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended by the Local Government (Access to information) (Variation) (Wales) Order 2007, relevant to the items of business as set out in the report.

The LA Governor Panel considered the public interest test in deciding whether to exclude the public from the meeting for the items of business where the public interest test is relevant as set in the report.

It was RESOLVED that the public be excluded for consideration of the following items.

The School and Governor Unit Manager reported on the applications for L A Governor vacancies that required decision.

AGREED that the following nominations be recommended to Cabinet for approval:-

Temporary Governing Body of Brynhyfryd – This proposal was put forward in anticipation of Cabinet agreement to proceed to amalgamate Brynhyfryd Infant and Brynhyfryd Junior Schools.  The decision would be presented to Cabinet on 16^th December 2014 prior to the LA Panel papers for decision later in the same meeting’.
