Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 - Renewal of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver's Licence - LJL.

Minutes:

The Operational Lead, Taxis, presented the background information in respect of LJL.

Members’ asked questions of the Officer who responded accordingly.

LJL explained the circumstances relating to the matter and answered Members’ questions.

Resolved that:

1)    LJL’s Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence be renewed for one year.

Reason for Decision

The Committee were concerned that the offences took place whilst in a taxi and that a number of offences committed and points received on the licence occurred over a relatively short period of time and demonstrated a repeated pattern of behaviour

The Committee were of the view that renewing the licence for a period of one year was appropriate but would remind the applicant that he must ensure that notification of any future offences be reported to the Licensing Authority within the specified time period and to ensure that that notification has been received.
